About the Place
Skala Maries to the southwest of the island is a picturesque fish village built amphitheatrical over a creek with a small harbor, where local fishermen tie their boats. Its small port is offered for relaxing walks, while in the nearby tavernas you can enjoy fresh fish.
Various cultural events are organized here during summer. In coordination with neighboring villages, a carnival parade is organized in the village on Lent Monday.
Distances from the most important sites in Thassos are relatively small in order to combine your summer holiday with visits to historic sites and sites that are famous for their landscapes. Aliki, the monastery of Archangel Michael, the natural pool of Gkiola and dozens of beaches for all tastes are situated a few kilometers away.
How to get there
Thassos island is only accessible by ferry boat and has two ports, Skala Prinos and Limenas (Thassos Town) which are serviced from Kavala and Keramoti on the mainland.
FROM KAVALA
The ferry from Kavala runs to Skala Prinos and has a journey time of one and a quarter hours with a maximum of 5 sailings per day in the summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos turn right at the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue past Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachi until you reach Skala Maries.
FROM KERAMOTI
From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thassos Town), the capital of Thassos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. From Limenas, car or bus, turn right at the ring road and follow the signs for Prinos from there it is the same as the above directions (Kavala/Skala Prinos).
BY AIRPLANE
The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.

Cancellation and payment policy
- Deposit of 30% of total price of the reservation is required to confirm a booking. The remaining balance will be paid a week before arrival.
- If a guest arrives after the arrival date of the reservation or if he leaves before the departure date of the reservation, property owner keeps the right to charge the total price of the reservation.
- If cancelled up to 21 days before the date of arrival, deposit will not be refunded.
- If we will not receive the second payment a week before arrival the reservation it will be cancelled without any refund.
- If cancelled later, or in case of no-show, deposit will not be refunded.
